MANIX RESIDENCE MANANA(Tomorrow)

Hey Everyone,

I put the wrong residence in the Grapevine AND I didn't put anything about 707 in this months Geneva Press. I am sorry. I have no excuse, unless you want one.....
I am really excited about the Manix house tomorrow night. It might be tight if we are inside, and it might be freezing if we are outside, so prepare for the worst.

Tomorrow - theme for December- STRENGTH
Attendance - Rebecca thanks for doing this every week. We are starting to get a huge mailing list.
Video - Hey Jason, Will has a new Zultan Parkour video on youtube, would you have time to burn it and bring it?
Games - Rebecca and I will bring games to dinner, Mike, you run the games! We really need to work on getting the kids to mingle with other kids. The last few games were GREAT!!
Questions by Herrick - New Idea, Herrick, come up with a total of 3 really hard trivia multiple choice questions, something you are teaching in your class right now. I'll bring 3 really good prizes for people to choose from... Christmas present time.....probably from the dollar store.
Skit- Jason, see if there are any we could do from the books that have Strength as the theme.
Impossible Shot - Jason..... have the students give their name, school, grade, extra curricular activities they are involved in, if they have any pets and then tell them to finish this sentence. The last time I laughed at myself for doing something dumb or funny was.....then they toss.
Testimony on Strength - Dave Capelle. You are up. We'll talk.
Songs to Close- Colin, you are on!

Things to discuss at our 5:30 leader dinner:
1. Christmas Party, Where, When, What do we do?
2. Testimony schedule...
3. Camp. Who wants to go? January 23-25th.
4. Fundraisers for camp.... ideas?

Great Job on Tuesday.....

Great job everyone on Tuesday. Herrick, the Lord used you.

This Sunday, Anne, Dave, Jason and I will be gone. Colin, it's all you buddy. Good luck. Hopefully Mike Heydenrych will be back, but doubt it. Thanks again for taking the group. Do a game, a BUNCH of songs and then a quick study. Make sure all kids are out of the room before you leave, that gives Jonathon less chance to get into trouble.

Mary know's where the attendance folders are in my box. Watt, Becca and Herrick, if you are available, I bet Colin would love the support.

See you next week!! Hast My Vista, Baby!

5 new kids last tuesday, more sure to come....

Rebecca, you did a great job sharing your heart and getting these kids used to hearing the good news of Jesus! Thanks. Really. Thanks. This week you are on Attendance sheet, we need to get every kid to sign the clip board. This is your one and most important task!

Jason, awesome impossible shot... let's come up with a list of interrogation questions before you give them an opportunity to take the shot..... like, for the person who brought the friend, "What number is this friend out of your top ten?" and for the new kid, "if you were a vegetable, what vegetable would you be and why?" stuff like that.... I'll make you a list for Tuesday..... thanks for doing power point, I wonder if you are getting tired of it since you do it alllll the time. And yes, Dave and I did nothing on the skit.....

Colin, GREAT JOB AGAIN.... Will did want songs we all knew so he could sing along.... perhaps some easy ones, from the old days, Supertones, Found, Nebraska, Led Zeppelin,,,,, stuff like that.....Worship was great.....

Herrick, Mike Heydenrych is doing games so he'll use your new easier questions for his trivia game. You focus on your 15-17 minute story/testimony with some verses from the Bible.....

Anne and Dave, NEW FLIERS!!!! This is our last week at the Godfreys, we need hard copies and digital copies to send to everyone for the Levegoods!!!

Watt, be prepared to act, dance, hang out and be entertained!!!!

Skit! Anne and I could work on it tomorrow night. Dave, Jason, let me know if you have any direction. Other than that, Anne and I had some fun ideas..... we just need a movie theme....

Love to you all,

Mark

Night One...A Complete Success

Hey guys, Mark here.
I want you to know how wonderful a job you all did. From Herrick's improvisation during our scene from the 300 to Colin's performance. I was very excited and I felt all of our hard work paid off. Thanks to Becca, Mike Hey and Dave for their outstanding roles in the drama and to Anne and Jason for making me look like the guy who got the girl!

NEXT WEEK's to do list:
Jason, GREAT VIDEO for the impossible shot!!! Thanks so much for making that.... next week, since we know there will be new kids, let's make the actual shot part longer, have kids introduce their friends(we originally wanted to do it during the intro game, but I think it would be best to have the friends do it, especially since we are giving them money if they make it!) also have everyone drum roll and possibly count down.... apply pressure! Maybe move it a bit closer...a little LESS impossible - especially since we're dealing with the low fan in the middle of the room.

Jason and Dave working on a skit, probably from IRON MAN....fewer leaders involved do to stage size, perhaps a bit longer with some more improved lines....use Watt!

Herrick, trivia questions for the kids, perhaps 6 questions, I'll come up with a game to use them in.

Mike Heydenrych, just be on time.

Colin, GREAT JOB, you get better and better each time you play, thanks for doing it.... a song I thought that would be fun is ...... Realize by Colbie Caillat.

Becca, Let's work on your testimony on Sunday....

Watt, be prepared to act. You're making a fool of yourself this week!

Anne, organize some other parents to bring treats.... get Dave to make the next fliers so we're not scrambling!

That's it, see you at 5:30 on Tuesday at our house for our prep meeting.

Thanks again for everything,
Mark

Two Weeks Out...

In just two weeks we'll be gathering for our first 707. How exciting. Be praying for students at the surrounding highschools and the friends of our current group. We want to build a RELATIONAL ministry in which we can share our love of Jesus.

Minutes from tonights meeting...
Project Hangout Ideas: Invite kids to do what you love...find kids who love the same thing. If you golf every Tuesday, find some guys that would love to do that. Hear their story and meet them on their turf.

707 Themes for Fall:
October - Truth...telling the truth, Knowing and sharing the truth, Seeing yourself truthfully as God made you
November - Faith...faith in yourself, faith in God, others who had faith in you
December - Strength/Perseverance - resisting temptation, standing up for what you believe in, finding or sources of strength

October meeting to be held at the Godfreys
November mtgs at the Levegoods

Meeting starts at 5:30 at Mark and Anne's house - dinner and run through of the night. Please be there at 5:30 so that we can leave for 707 prepared!

We will have flyers on Sunday to give to kids to pass out at school.
Be thinking of when you would like to give your testimony (based on the themes above)
Rebecca is doing week 2, Herrick week 3...others are all open

707 Nightly Schedule
Two Songs - Colin (words projected)
Skit - Focus on Inviting Friends and underlying theme of truth (whoever is in it)
Impossible Shot - Jason to get YouTube clips of shots to play
Jason running the shot
Announcements
Intro of new people - Paper bag eating...Mark leading that
Testimony -- Mark
Two Songs - Colin

Thanks for being her tonight!! We are so excited about this ministry and how God is using each of you to reach students in our area.

9/2 Leader Mtg Minutes

Here's a place we can post our thoughts, ideas, and give feedback. I'm so excited about this ministry and am praying for all those students that will be reached with God's love.
Here's notes from what we talked about last night (of course I didn't actually start writing anything down until we were almost done)
  • Leader Mtg at 5:30 on each Tuesday before 7:07...We'll have good food for dinner and be able to spend time preparing for the evening and praying for kids
  • Colin is coming up with good secular songs to start the evening off right at 7:07...maybe we'll even have a count down of sorts to lead into it...??
  • Jason and Dave are working on skits with the brilliant "texting" idea as an underlying theme throughout.
  • Did we decide that we needed a theme "scope and sequence" for the 6 wks to tie in the skit and the testimony? If so, Mark--get on that!
  • Intro of new kids...something new and non-cheese related =) Writing out embarrasign facts...having new kids write one fact - but maybe not even using that
  • Small groups sign up will be week 2...

I was thinking about that "new kid" thing. We should wait until the 2nd week to intro new kids b/c then this is new for everyone and it's not like the geneva crowd and then new kids. Everyone will feel like they are new - then intro kids on the 2nd wk that missed wk 1. But we could still do that intro game the first night with a few random kids -

We will meet again in 3 wks...9/23 - 6-8pm again at our house (unless someone else has a different idea) Hopefully we will have many things done using this site so that the meeting can be finalizing ideas instead of brainstorming ideas =)
thanks guys,
anne

Be praying for:
The geneva kids we know
Their friends that we don't know
The hearts of kids that will be in small group
Homes will be opened to us
Parents of these kids
